I’m Brett Morris, and I started Salt Marsh Growth AI. I was born in Beaufort, SC, and grew up spending as much time as I could out on the water.

I’ve spent my career in two worlds. For thirteen years I worked in several roles at Electronic Systems, a Xerox-owned IT services company in Virginia Beach, with eventual full P&L responsibility for the business. Over those years it grew from $40 million to over $110 million. I know what it’s like to manage a payroll, measure results, keep billable people out in the field, and invest in a new tool and live with the decision.

I’ve also seen technology from the other side. I started my career at GE’s Comstor technology business and led the US sales division that grew from $140 million to over $800 million. I then spent a decade building technology partnerships: six years at Veeam Software, a data security company, running the Cisco alliance for North America, then nearly four years at Amazon Web Services building partnerships with the software and AI platforms the largest companies in the country rely on. I am an AWS Certified AI Practitioner and hold Anthropic’s AI Fluency certificates.

AI is accessible to small companies as well as large ones, and it can do things for a business that were not possible even two years ago. Most of what’s written about it is written for large companies, but everyone needs to be prepared. I’ve spent years on both sides, running a service business and working inside the technology companies whose tools everyone else ends up using. Salt Marsh brings the two together: a straightforward read on what’s worth doing in your business, what isn’t, and what it would take to keep running. I think in business outcomes and practical solutions.
